Comprehensive information and accessible knowledge are fundamental to understanding the complex nature of water and water management.
From the beginning of the Water for Life strategy in 2003, the Government of Alberta has made a commitment to both investing in water research
and knowledge, and to providing Albertans with access to a variety of information about water across the province and in their communities.
To focus the efforts under the knowledge and research key direction of the strategy the Water for Life action plan identifies specific initiatives
to be undertaken between 2009 and 2019. These include work in the areas of:
- Providing student and teacher resources
- Providing water education and information for the public
- Supporting groundwater knowledge
