Waste Management Facilities

A waste management facility is defined by the type of waste that is accepted, and the processes used to handle and treat the accepted wastes.

Financial Security and Setbacks

All waste management facilities must meet requirements under the Activities Designation Regulation as well as setback distances under the Subdivision and Development Regulation. Waste facilities that need to be registered or approved are also required to post financial security as required by the Waste Control Regulation.
