As part of Alberta’s ongoing commitment to protecting our natural landscape, tickets and specified penalty amounts (fines) for public lands violations will be reinstated, effective August 6th, 2016.

Violation tickets with specified penalties can be issued on the spot for such public lands abuses as:

  • Damage or destruction to fish and wildlife habitat
  • Improper waste disposal
  • Irresponsible off-highway vehicle (OHV) use

Where Tickets or Other Public Lands Enforcement May Be Issued

Violation tickets with specified penalties can be issued by provincial enforcement officers in designated:

On other provincial public lands, provincial enforcement personnel can serve a summons requiring a person to appear in court.

In addition to being issued a violation ticket with a specified penalty or a summons to appear in court, persons may also be ordered to repair any damage they have caused.

List of Specified Penalty Ticket Amounts

Below is a summary list of public lands offences and their corresponding specified penalty ticket amounts. Ticket fines may range from $115 to $575, depending on the offence.
