Urban Digital Contour Data

Identification Information

Abstract

Digital contour data was originally captured from the Municipal Integrated Surveying and Mapping (MISAM) Program for the following urban municipalities:

  • Airdrie,
  • Barrhead, Beaumont, Bonnyville, Bow Island,
  • Camrose, Cardston, Claresholm, Cochrane, Cold Lake (includes former Grand Centre),
  • Drayton Valley, Drumheller (includes ID #7),
  • Edson,
  • Gibbons, Grande Cache, Grande Prairie, Grimshaw,
  • Hanna, High Level, High Prairie, High River, Hinton,
  • Lac La Biche, Lacombe,
  • Magrath, Medicine Hat ( includes Redcliff), Morinville, Municipality of Crowsnest Pass,
  • Oyen,
  • Raymond,
  • St. Albert, St. Paul, Slave Lake, Stony Plain, Strathcona County, Strathmore, Swan Hills,
  • Taber, Three Hills,
  • Vermillion,
  • Wainwright, Westlock, Whitecourt

The data is presented at a scale of 1:5 000 with 1 metre intervals (2 metre intervals in mountain regions).

Purpose

This hypsography cartographic layer provides users with cartographic urban contour (elevation) data.

This three-dimensional digital elevation model (DEM) coordinate data was originally captured from the Municipal Integrated Surveying and Mapping (MISAM) Program for the following urban municipalities:

  • Three Hills,
  • Westlock, Whitecourt

The data is presented at a scale of 1:5 000 and a 20 metre regular grid.
