Fish Management Zones

Alberta is divided into three Fish Management Zones (FMZs). Each zone has its own unique assemblage of water bodies, game fish species and management regimes.

Fishing in National Parks

Although fishing is allowed in many national parks, Alberta Sportfishing Licences are not valid in Alberta national parks. If you wish to fish in one of Alberta's five national parks, check the fishing regulations for each park at:
